1-Day Gorilla Trekking Itinerary in Rwanda

08:30 AM – 1:00 PM – The Gorilla Trekking Experience
Transfer to Trailhead: Drive 15–30 minutes to the specific trailhead where your assigned gorilla group was last located.

The Hike: Walk with your armed ranger guide and trackers through bamboo groves and rainforest. The hike can take anywhere from 1 to 3+ hours depending on where the gorillas nested the previous night.

The 1-Hour Encounter: Once you locate the gorilla family, you spend exactly 1 hour quietly observing them. Watch silverbacks, females, and playful young gorillas interact in their natural habitat.

Return Hike: Trek back down to the trailhead, where your ranger will award you an official Gorilla Trekking Certificate.

01:30 PM – Lunch in Musanze
Rest & Refuel: Drive down to a lodge or local restaurant in Musanze to enjoy a hot lunch and relax after the hike.
